Day 23 September 15

Day 23  September 15, 2012 Koblenz to Bonn, 42 miles, total mileage: 685.2

Some days ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  Today was one of those days.  We stayed at a hotel that did not offer breakfast. And while there are bakeries, a sweet roll doesn't cut it when you plan on riding.  The other thing that is different here, places for breakfast don't open early, especially on a weekend!  We found an old standby and had coffee and eggs.  No hash browns here, just very good roll.
It was a very grey, chilly, damp day.  The ride started on bike paths through an industrial area along the river.  Finally our route left the businesses and went into the woods and eventually to this magic, ancient entrance to a very special place named Andernach.
SWEET!!!!!!!!!
Today we did not cross back and forth over the river, but rather we went back and forth under the railroad and the roadway.  On and off the bike all day long.
We sat on the left side of the Rhine River for our lunch break.  Those ominous clouds did not bring rain.  Unfortunately they foreshadow a technical storm with Paul's camera and we have no pictures of our tour of Bonn. To be continued.....
