One Week to go !!

Riding in Lancaster County Pa.

A stop at the railroad museum

Jane waiting patiently, protected from the sun

We have to bring the bike with us this time, so this is how it looks all packed up. I'll be assembling it on the street after flying all night.  Just hope I get it all together!  And then in a month, I have to get it back into these boxes, so hopefully these pictures will help.

As usual I wait until the last minute to get everything ready and this is no exception. We have been riding a bit and since where we are going is pretty flat, I'm sure it will carry us through. We do have a train ride planned during this trip from Brussels to Luxemburg which is just a couple of hours and we do hope our tandem is welcome aboard. It will take us a week to get to Brussels once we leave Amsterdam.
Our stops for the first week are in Haarlem, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Breda, Antwerp, Leuven, and finally Brussels. Mileage each day will average about 40miles, so with a early start we hope to be in the town with plenty of time to find a place to stay for the night. No camping gear on this trip either, so hopefully we won't be sleeping on a bench.
Jane has a knitting project to keep her occupied, a Irish knit sweater for our new granddaughter Hannah.  As for me,  I will be occupied trying to keep us going in the right direction.Should be fun. See you in a week when we arrive in Amsterdam. Paul and Jane

    1. Thanks Kris and Alsion , sure wish we could have made it across to see you two. We plan on bringing a few cool weather things so don't let it get too cold!

  2. Touring in Europe; awesome! Should be a grand adventure. Our brief brush with the Netherlands was spending a few hours in Schiphol Airport on our way to and from Tanzania.

    1. We will think of you while sitting there. BTW, do you remember the steep steps you had to descend off the AT at the Blue MT. Railroad station in Pennsylvania?, we rode that rail trail and thought of you.
